Supports healthy fat metabolism in the liver for overall hepatic function and detoxification
The lipotropic agents choline, betaine, methionine, vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folic acid support healthy hepatic fat metabolism and bile flow. Efficient processing and breakdown of fats in the liver maintains healthy overall liver function and detoxification. As methyl donors, these same nutrients are also critical for methylation, a widespread biochemical process in the body that involves transferring a methyl group to another compound. Methylation of DNA supports healthy DNA integrity and stability, important for liver, colon and overall cell health. These nutritional factors are also highly recognized for their ability to maintain healthy homocysteine metabolism. Taurine, curcumin, silymarin and artichoke have been added for their abilities to support healthy bile flow, gene expression and the bodys normal toxin metabolism.

Trimethylglycine and turmeric can cause G.I. upset, including nausea or diarrhea. Artichoke and curcumin should be used with caution in patients with bile duct obstruction. Artichoke and milk thistle should be avoided by individuals with allergies to members of the aster (Asteraceae/Compositae) family. If pregnant or lactating, consult your physician before taking this product.
Some studies have reported that milk thistle and turmeric can affect the way that the liver breaks down medications metabolized by the cytochrome P450 system, altering the effects of these medications and possibly the dose needed for treatment. Turmeric may be contra-indicated with blood thinning medications. Consult your physician for more information.
