Used as an expectorant (helps mucus expulsion) to help relieve coughs. Helps to support/improve respiratory function in patients with chronic bronchitis. Helps to relieve coughs and helps expectoration (loosens mucus) in patients with chronic bronchitis. Used as an expectorant to help relieve symptoms associated with chronic bronchitis. Children 3-12 years: Used in Herbal Medicine to promote sweating (diaphoretic), to help relieve fever (in cases of common colds, flus). Children 3-12 years: Used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve symptoms of colds and flus (such as coughs, sore throat and catarrh of the upper respiratory tract). Adults and Adolescents (13 years and older) and Children (6-12 years- 1 teaspoon, three times daily): Used in Herbal Medicine (as a demulcent) to relieve the irritation of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa and associated dry cough.

Recommended Dose
Adolescents and Children (6 years and older): Take one teaspoon three times daily or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner. Consult your healthcare practitioner for use beyond four weeks.
Children (3-5 years): Take ½ teaspoon three times daily or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner. Consult your healthcare practitioner for use beyond 14 days. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of the reach of children.
Cautions and Warnings
Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant of breastfeeding, if you have gastrointestinal inflammation or ulcer, or if you are taking antitussives (e.g. codeine or dextromethorphan). If symptoms persist or worsen, or if you have experience fever, shortness of breath, purulent nasal or cough discharge, consult a health care practitioner.
Do not use if you are allergic to ivy.
Hypersensitivity (e.g. allergy) can occur, in which case, discontinue use. Discontinue use in case of gastrointestinal upsets, such as abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Diuretic effect may occur.
